At 04:36 Critical Control were contacted by the Ambulance Service to assist paramedics gain entry to a residential property. One appliance from Helston Fire Station was mobilised. On arrival crews pitched a ladder and attempted to gain entry via an upstairs window. Prior to entering the property crews noticed a smell of gas possibly coming from within the property. Two firefighters donned breathing apparatus and entered the property to search for the casualty. Crews requested a gas monitor and a Compact Response Vehicle was mobilised from Helston Fire Station with the gas monitoring equipment.

One casualty was located by firefighters and walked out of the property via the internal staircase to waiting paramedics.

Crews have identified no gas in the property and are awaiting arrival of an emergency gas engineer.
