The first call was received at 2202hrs and the first fire crew was in attendance within four minutes. On their arrival they requested assistance and fire crews from Tolvaddon x2, Hayle, Perranporth, Truro, Helston, St Ives and St Dennis along with an Aerial Ladder Platform from Newquay, a Command Unit from St Just and a Breathing Apparatus Support Unit from Falmouth are in attendance at a fire in a takeaway shop.

The fire started on the ground floor and spread to the first floor. Smoke was also seen coming from the roof.

Update 2300hrs: Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus have knocked down the fire on the ground floor. A search for fire spread is underway. The road has been closed.

Update 0030hrs: Good progress made. Fire crews are checking for unseen fire spread, internally using firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and externally using the aerial ladder platform. The Police have assisted with an aerial survey, using a drone.

Update 0052hrs: The fire is under control. One fire crew will remain to check for hotspots and all other fire crews will be returning.

Update 0150hrs: The road has been re-opened.

Update 0300hrs: A thorough check has been carried out to confirm that all hotspots have been extinguished. The last fire crew has left the scene and a further inspection will be carried out later in the morning.
