At 07:40 Critical Control received reports of flames seen in the area of Bartinney, St Just.

One appliance and the L4P from St Just were mobilised immediately. Once in attendance Firefighters confirmed a fire front of approximately 200 metres. Beaters are in use and crews are making good progress.

Firefighters are now fighting the fire on two fronts. Appliances from St Ives and Penzance have also been mobilised to the incident.

Multiple calls have been received for this incident as it can be easily seen by anyone within the Lands End vicinity.

Update 1520 hours: We now have crews from St. Just, Penzance, St. Ives, Perranporth and Helston. A total of five appliances, two light support vehicles and a water carrier, crews are fighting a large fire on two separate fronts. A Group Manager is in overall charge of the incident.

Update 1730 hours: Crews are still continuing to fight the fire which is being fanned by strong winds, they are using high pressure hosereel jets and main jets.
