At 1408hrs, a 999 call was received reporting smoke coming from the floorboards of a block of flats. Two fire appliances from St Austell and a fire appliance from Mevagissey was mobilised.

Firefighters have discovered a fire in a wall in the block of 12 flats of three floors. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are using a hosereel to extinguish the fire. A further fire crew has been requested and a fire appliance from Truro and support vehicles from St Austell and Launceston are also on scene.
