We are currently dealing with a gorse fire being fanned by high winds in the Zoar area.

Appliances in attendance from St Keverne, Mullion and Helston Fire Stations along with the Water Carrier from Helston and 2 Flexi Duty Officers. They are using hosereel and beaters to try to fight the fire.

UPDATE @ 2333hrs: The fire covers 4 hectares and is burning on 2 fronts. The Incident Commander has requested further assistance from Falmouth and Penzance major appliances.

UPDATE @ 0132hrs: Make Pumps 7 requested from Hayle and Tolvaddon.

Update @ 0330- Appliances from St Ives and Falmouth are now on scene monitoring for hot spots all other appliances have left scene, it is believed around a mile of gorse has been effected by fire.

Update @ 0630- all appliances have left scene the fire and any hotspots have now been extinguished.
