At 14:42 the Critical Control Centre received a 999 call for a compost heap smouldering, on the Isles Of Scilly.

Two appliances from St Marys were mobilised immediately to the scene. On arrival one small heap of compost, approx. two metres by three metres, was discovered, well alight.

Firefighters used one Hose Reel Jet to extinguish the fire.
