We were called at 13:26 by Police to reports of a Road Traffic Collision involving two vehicles with at least one person trapped in a vehicle on its roof. One Appliance and a Rescue Tender were mobilised from Bodmin Fire Station and one Appliance and a Wholetime Station Manager were mobilised from Launceston Fire Station.
On arrival crews met with police and assessed the scene. They found three casualties on the roadside and confirmed one casualty was physically trapped inside a vehicle with potentially serious injuries. Crews waited for the arrival of paramedics and Cornwall Air Ambulance critical care staff to put together an extrication plan to safely remove the casualty from the vehicle.
At 14:49 crews confirmed the casualty was successfully extricated from the vehicle and transferred to the Cornwall Air Ambulance and on to the Major Trauma Centre at Derriford Hospital.
During the incident Highways England assisted emergency services with road closures and putting a diversion in place.
