Specialist line rescue crews from Tolvaddon attended a call to a dog which had gone down an adit and then fallen down a mine shaft. Firefighters used a safe system of work to lower one firefighter 10 ft down into the mine shaft and rescue the dog. The animal was recovered unhurt and returned to its owner.
