On the initial call stating that alarms were sounding and smoke was seen coming out of a window, appliances from St. Austell and St. Dennis were mobilised along with two Officers, on arrival the incident was upgraded to 'Persons Reported', a further appliance from Newquay was mobilised, teams of firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered a two storey semi detached dwelling and located a fire in the kitchen on the ground floor and extinguished. All persons were accounted for. One dog was rescued by Fire Service personnel.
