Persons Reported Fire

Roche at 29/10/2021 21:23

At 9:20pm our Critical Control Centre received a 999 call from an occupant of a property in Roche. The caller had communication difficulties, our call taker was able to gather the address and that there was a fire in the kitchen.

The occupant was unable to leave the property but with support and guidance from the call taker they were able to make their way to the front door and keep as much distance from the fire as possible.

Whilst the caller was still speaking to our call taker, crews from St Dennis, St Austell and Bodmin were mobilised alongside a wholetime officer. On arrival they assisted the original caller out of the property to a safer place. Crew wearing breathing apparatus entered the property to locate the fire, they found a small fire on top of a cooker which was extinguished quickly.

The property was allowed to ventilate naturally and the occupant was able to return. Crews offered support until the occupants family arrived.
