Fire Control received two 999 calls reporting a fire in a commercial premises in Duke Street, St Austell. Two appliances and two Wholetime Officers were mobilised from St Austell to attend the incident.
On arrival crews found a fire in a kitchen and heavy smoke logging throughout the building. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus (BA) used foam, dry powder and carbon dioxide (CO2) extinguishers to extinguish the fire which involved a deep fat fryer.
Crews are using a positive pressure ventilation (PPV) fan to clear smoke from the premises and a fire investigation is currently taking place.
