Fire In Silo

At 13:45hrs, Critical Control received a call to a fire inside a building. One fire appliance from Delabole, one fire appliance Launceston and the aerial ladder platform from Newquay were mobilised.

On arrival, the crews confirmed there was a fire in a silo and requested a further pump, which was mobilised from Launceston.

Firefighters, some wearing breathing apparatus, are containing the fire to the silo, using one hose reel. The aerial ladder platform is in use for the safety of firefighters who are working at height.

Two further crews were requested at 1616hrs and these have been mobilised from Callington (who were standing by at Launceston) and Bude.

The fire is still ongoing and fire crews are expected to remain on scene for some time.

18:50 A total of five major appliances from Delabole, Launceston, Bude and Callington are in attendance along with an Aerial Ladder Platform from Newquay and Water Carrier from Wadebridge.

20:30 - Fire is now believed to be out and the incident is being scaled down.

23:14 All appliances have now left the scene and the incident has been handed over to staff on site.
