At around 16:13 multiple 999 calls were received reporting a serious collision between a motorcycle and a van. Appliances were mobilised from St Austell and St Dennis, along with a Rescue Tender from Bodmin and a Group Manager from St Austell. The ambulance service also sent a number of resources including Cornwall's Air Ambulance.

On arrival crews found two casualties, one motorcyclist who was trapped under a van and one driver trapped in the van. Crews used crash rescue equipment to immediately release the trapped motorcyclist who was then treated by Critical Care Paramedics from Cornwall Air Ambulance. Crews then worked on releasing the second casualty from within the van who was also released using crash rescue equipment and treated by paramedics.

Crews then made vehicles safe before handing the incident over to Devon and Cornwall Police for investigation.
