Fire appliances from St Keverne, Mullion, Helston, Falmouth, Truro along with two Water Carriers from Helston, Wadebridge and an Incident Command Unit from St Just are in attendance at a domestic dwelling fire. The first call was received at 17:45, crews reported a large plume of smoke on route to the premise and immediately requested 'Make pumps three and Watercarrier one'. The first crew on scene tackled the fire using rapid deployment and one hose reel jet. At 18:10 crews had four breathing apparatus under stage 1 and two hose reel jets in use. At 18:13 a request for 'Make pumps 5' was made. Electrical engineers were requested to attend the property. The property involved is a two storey residential building measuring 10 x 20 metres. The property has been fully involved in the fire. At 18:18 crews were using 4 breathing apparatus under stage 1, 2 hose reel jets and two main jets. The fire was divided into two sectors for firefighting and a water shuttle are being used as water supplies on site are limited. Fire crews remain on scene but are now fighting the fire from a defensive position. 20:19 this incident is now beginning to scale back to three major appliances and one watercarrier. A Fire Investigation will be carried out in the morning.
Update 00:10 HRS - The incident has now been scaled back. One appliance from Hayle will remain on scene throughout the night to monitor for any further hot spots.
