Firefighters from Falmouth Community Fire Station were sent to reports of smoke in the area of Market Strand, Falmouth. The fire is located in ducting at the rear of a take-away shop. Firefighters, some wearing breathing apparatus, are using a hosereel and themal imaging camera to extinguish the fire. Due to the construction of the property and hidden voids, a further two fire crews have been requested, to assist with stopping the fire spreading. One crew is from Tolvaddon and the other from Truro.

Market Strand is currently blocked by fire service vehicles and it is advised that motorists avoid the area.

1615hrs: The fire has been extinguished and fire crews will be leaving the scene shortly.

1730hrs: Fire service vehicles have moved and the road is now clear.
