House Fire

Redbrooke Road Camborne at 09/05/2006 21:58

Firefighters from Camborne were called to a fire at the terraced property last night. When they arrived the property was already well alight. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the building and discovered the occupier in the kitchen. They quickly took him out of the house and to a waiting ambulance. He was taken to Treliske Hospital where he remains in a critical condition. Tragically a cat and dog died in the fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire using hosereels and remained at the house until 11pm.
Fire Investigators have discovered that the fire was started by a cooker left unattended. The house did not have a working smoke alarm. Fortunately a neighbour saw the smoke and dialed 999.
