@12:35 Critical Control received a call to smoke issuing from wooded area. Firefighters from Falmouth Community Fire Station were mobilised to investigate.
On arrival it was found that approximately one acre of woodland area was smouldering.
Due to the rural location and difficult access the Fire Boat from Falmouth was also mobilised to assist crews to deal with the fire.
Firefighters using beaters and with the assistance of the fire boat to pump from open water, are at work extinguishing the fire

Firefighters still in attendance making area safe, fire contained using a main jet supplied by Fire Boat

This morning the Fire Boat and a crew from Falmouth Fire Station have re-attended the scene to monitor for hot spots and to continue with damping down the scene. Good progress is being made.
