Critical Control received several calls to gorse on fire. An appliance from St Ives Community Fire Station was mobilised and on arrival an assistance message was made for a further fire appliance to attend, make pumps 2.
St Just Community Fire Station was also mobilised to the area.
An area of 100 metres square was affected by fire.
Firefighters used beaters and hosereels to extinguish the fire and prevent the fire spreading to the surrounding area.

Update @06:15 hrs
A fire appliance has remained in attendance all night damping down any hotspots to prevent escalation.
A reinspection of the site will be carried out at approximately 07:30 hrs
