At 11:46 Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service were requested by the police to assist at a road traffic collision involving a bus and a car. Three appliances were mobilised from Looe and Liskeard Fire Stations along with a Rescue Tender from Bodmin and Wholetime Station Manager from Launceston.

On arrival crews found one person trapped in the car which was on its side. Crews used crash rescue equipment (cutting and spreading tools) and high pressure airbags to extricate one casualty from the car. All persons had self-evacuated from the bus prior to arrival of the emergency services.
