Horse Rescue

Ruan Minor at 23/01/2023 08:35

At 0835 hrs Critical Control received a 999 call requesting assistance to rescue a horse that was trapped in mud. Crews from Mullion and Tolvaddon as well as a flexi duty officer were mobilised. On arrival crews made an assessment that access would not be possible for vehicles due to the field being extremely muddy, so all equipment was carried across the field by hand. A vet was also called to ensure the wellbeing of the horse was maintained whilst crews started to erect specialist lifting equipment. Once the lifting poles were in place crews successfully lifted the horse back onto to its legs and walked it back to the stable where it was monitored by the vet.
