At 14:45 today, The Critical Control Centre received four calls to a chimney fire at a thatched property. Two appliances from Bude and a Water Carrier from Wadebridge were mobilised, supported by neighbouring appliances from Hartland and Holsworthy mobilised by DSFRS.
On arrival, Firefighters confirmed that the address was a thatched domestic property measuring ten meters by five meters and used breathing apparatus and hose reels to enter the property. Using chimney rods to inspect, Firefighters established the fire within the fireplace and flu was out, checking for hot spots and any signs of fire spread using a thermal imaging camera.
