A fire engine from Redruth attended two separate hedge fires approximately 60 meters appart near the gates to RAF Portreath at 0555 on 17th June. Crews were faced with two seats of fire, one of 10 meters of hedge and a round bale of hay and the other 20 meters of hedge both well alight. A hosereel was used to extinguish both and the cause is believed to be arson. Crews returned to station at 0704.
