Fire Control received the first of several 999 calls reporting a car had driven off a road and into a river with persons trapped inside. Two appliances and a Water Rescue Unit were mobilised from Bude along with additional Water Rescue Units from Plymouth and St Austell, as well as two wholetime Station Managers.

On arrival crews found a vehicle in water with two people still inside. Two other occupants had self-rescued prior to arrival of the brigade. Crews were able to assist the two remaining occupants out of the vehicle to dry land. All persons are accounted for and uninjured.
