At 19:41 the brigade received a call from the coastguard reference a dog reported in a mine shaft. This was believed to be approximately 40 feet deep. One appliance from Penzance, one appliance and the rescue tender from Camborne attended. Using shaft rescue equipment a labrador cross spaniel, called Emma was recovered from the shaft by brigade crews. She was very happy when brought up even though rather wet and muddy!
