Both appliances from Launceston were mobilised initially to this incident, on arrival the barn was found to be well alight and further resources were requested, an appliance from Callington and the water carrier attended. The fire involved a Dutch Barn measuring 40 x 15 metres, containing 9 tons of fertiliser and 15 tons of hay, the contents were carefully removed to open ground, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and other Brigade personnel used jets and hosereels to extinguish the fire.
