After this initial call, both appliances from St. Austell were mobilised to the incident. On arrival crews found that the fire was in a timber yard, further resources were required, an appliance from Fowey and the water carrier from Bodmin were mobilised. The fire involved five wooden sheds used as industrial units, some containing garden furniture and motor vehicles. Teams of firefighters wore breathing apparatus at the scene, the fire was extinguished using water jets and hosereels. Arson was suspected. A Fire Investigation Team from Cornwall Fire Brigade will attend. Devon & Cornwall Police have been informed.
