**SAFETY MESSAGE - RESIDENTS IN THE ST HILARY AREA ARE ADVISED TO STAY INDOORS AND KEEP DOORS AND WINDOWS CLOSED DUE TO THE SMOKE PLUME**

Fire Control received a 999 call at 16:19 reporting a fire in the open near Belvedere Lane, St Hilary. One appliance from Penzance was mobilised. On arrival the incident commander requested assistance from a second crew, a crew from St Just were proceeded on to the incident whilst en route to standby at Penzance.

At 17:06 a further assistance message was sent requesting a third appliance, which was Mullion, who were en route to standby at Penzance.

UPDATE 17:16: Two main jets, two positive pressure ventilation (PPV) fans in use and 4 firefighters in breathing apparatus.

UPDATE 18:04: Make Pumps 4, fourth appliance mobilised from Penzance. Crews continuing attempts to extinguish the fire.
