Barn Fire

***SAFETY MESSAGE***

Residents in #Lockengate are advised to keep doors and windows closed due to a smoke plume from large barn fire in the village.

Due to weather conditions the plume is lying low to the ground and not dispersing.

Incident Details:

At 04:14 Fire Control received the first of multiple 999 calls reporting a fire in a barn near to Lockengate, Bugle. Two appliances from Bodmin Fire Station were mobilised along with a Wholetime Station Manager.

On arrival crews found a barn to be well alight and crews requested 'Make Pumps 4' and a Water Carrier.

Further resources have now been mobilised and a further make up message has been received to 'Make Pumps 5'. All specialist appliances associated with the make up message have also been mobilised.

Please avoid the area due to difficult access.

UPDATE 06:42 - Five pumping appliances now in attendance from Bodmin, St Austell and Wadebridge along with the following special appliances: Operational Support Unit from Falmouth, Incident Command Unit from Launceston, Environmental protection Unit and support pump from Saltash and Welfare Unit from St Mawes.

Update:21:30 One appliance will remain on scene overnight to monitor and check for hotspots.
