At 19:26 Fire Control received a 999 call reporting a serious multiple vehicle road traffic collision with persons trapped. This was followed by emergency calls from Police and Ambulance control rooms.

An appliance from Penzance on standby at Tolvaddon was immediately mobilised along with wholetime crew from Tolvaddon in a Rescue Tender, and a Station Manager from Camborne.

Both appliances arrived on scene within 9 minutes of the first call.

On arrival crews used crash rescue equipment to extricate one casualty.

The scene was handed over to Devon & Cornwall Police who are the lead agency for this incident. There will be no further update on this incident from the fire service, any media enquiries should be directed to the police.
