At 23:14 a call was received to a car on fire and threatening a property in Ruddle Moor, two major appliances from St Austell and a water carrier from Wadebridge were mobilised to the scene.
23:31 crews confirmed that the vehicle was well alight and that the fire had spread to a house, a request of ‘make pumps four’ was made. Appliances from Mevagissey and St Dennis were mobilised to the scene along with breathing apparatus support from Falmouth and an Incident command unit from Launceston.
23:41 crews confirmed that the vehicle was well alight on a driveway and the fire was affecting the ground and first floor of a domestic dwelling, all persons were accounted for. Firefighters had two breathing apparatus in use with one hose reel jet and a safety jet supplied by two hydrants. Firefighters had ensured the neighbouring properties were evacuated. National Grid were requested to isolate the electricity supply to the property.
00:09 Firefighters confirmed that the fire was believed out, the vehicle was destroyed, and the fire had affected both floors and roof space of one domestic dwelling. Firefighters had 6 breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, one safety jet in use. Crews were damping down and checking for further fire spread. A cordon was put in place around damaged overhead power cables.
01:13 National Grid were in attendance. A tier one fire investigation is taking place.
