Seven major fire appliances, plus specialist appliances from across west Cornwall attended a residential building fire on New Street, Penzance. The first call was received at 01:00 and several repeat calls were received to state that smoke was coming from the building.
At 01:29 crews confirmed that they had rescued one casualty from the property who was suffering from smoke inhalation.
Update at 02:27 HRS - Seven pumping appliances are now on scene from Penzance, St Just, St Ives, Hayle and Tolvaddon, along with the Incident Command Unit from St Just, and Operational Support Unit from Falmouth.
During the incident crews were using 8 breathing apparatus, two main jets, two hose reel jets.
At 03:19 the fire was confirmed out with electricity and gas being isolated to the property.
