At 15:37 a call was requested to help rescue a cow who had fallen approximately 20 metres down a mineshaft. Crews from St Dennis were mobilised along with specialist line recue equipment from Bodmin and Tolvaddon. Firefighters created a safe working area and set up a retrieval system using a Pal finger and pod set. The animal was initially assessed by the lowering of one firefighter into the shaft. a second firefighter was then committed and the animal sedated. Firefighters placed animal retrieval gear on the cow and the beast was lifted out of the mine shaft. The cow was left in the care of the Farmer and Vet on scene. There are no more details available on this incident.
