At 0422hrs, Devon and Somerset Fire & Rescue alerted our Critical Control Centre of a washing machine fire in the conservatory of a property in Saltash. Sometimes 999 calls can be directed to our neighbours when a mobile phone connects to a phone mast in Devon, all calls are triaged in the same way and every Fire Control is trained in giving suitable advice to callers to keep them safe.

A crew from Saltash Fire Station and a crew from Camels Head Fire Station attended the address and the incident command reported that smoke was issuing from the property on arrival.
Breathing Apparatus crews used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

A third crew, coming from Liskeard Fire Station, were asked to attend to provide additional BA wearers.

During this incident a crew from Looe Fire Station provided cover for the area from Saltash Fire Station.
