Five appliances and three water carriers from Launceston, Liskeard, Bodmin, Callington, Delabole and Helston are on scene at a large fire in the open. Crews are tackling a fire that started in a pile of 1000 tonnes of wood. An incident command point has been set up and the incident divided into two sectors. Firefighters are making good progress at this incident.

Update 21:07: slow steady progress being made, working with landowner to create fire break to save further wood piles. Additional water supplies being used from open water. Officers on scene are using a Foto kite to assess the incident ground and make tactical plans to fight the fire. Update 05:30 Fire appliances have remained in attendance at this fire overnight. Good progress is being made.
