Firefighters from Red Watch, Camborne Fire Station will be practicing their fire fighting capabilities in unusual circumstances this Thursday evening.
Working in partnership with Paradise Park they will be using the ‘JungleBarn’ to test their fire fighting skills in difficult conditions. Wearing breathing apparatus and blacked out face masks they will act as if they are rescuing a ‘casualty’ and extinguishing a ‘fire’.
“Firefighters across the County often organise exercises to test their search and rescue techniques. The more complicated they are the better as it pushes us to our limits. The JungleBarn at Paradise Park sounds like a strange place to hold an exercise but it is full of obstacles” explained Sub Officer Nick Harvey, Red Watch, Camborne Fire Station
He added: Exercises like this help us to ensure our fire fighting competencies are maintained to an extremely high standard”
Nick Reynolds, Paradise Park Director said: “We are pleased to support the local firefighters by opening the JungleBarn for their exercise. In an emergency we rely on their knowledge and skills to help us. Anything we can do to assist them is extremely worthwhile”.
