Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service is currently attending an incident in Island Crescent, Newquay, following a report of a potential fire involving solar panels on the roof of a building.
At approximately 12:20 PM today, Critical Control received a call from the public alerting them to a possible fire involving solar panels on a rooftop. The initial reports indicated that the solar panel system on the property might have caught fire, leading to the immediate mobilisation of fire crews.
Two fire appliances, an Aerial Ladder Platform (ALP) from Newquay, and an officer are currently on the scene to assess and address the situation.
Firefighters have quickly secured the area and are actively working to ensure that the fire is fully extinguished and that no further risk is posed to the surrounding area.
Update @ 15:15: The affected panel has now been removed by fire service personnel, along with a qualified electrician. No further updates are available and all resources have now left the scene.
