Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service have received multiple 999 calls to a report of a fire involving a combine harvester which has spread to adjacent fields.

Appliances from Liskeard, Lostwithiel, Callington and Bodmin are currently in attendance, along with Water Carriers from Liskeard and Wadebridge. A Station Manager and Group Manager are also in attendance.

Due to the proximity of the fire to the railway, the Cornish Mail Line has been closed and all trains stopped in both directions. This is necessary for the safety of the the travelling public and railway staff. A Rail Incident Officer from Network Rail is currently in attendance liaising with the fire service and the line will be re-opened as soon as it is safe to do so.
