At 06:28 Fire Control mobilised two appliances from Bodmin, a Water Carrier from Wadebridge and a Whole time Officer to reports of an agricultural barn alight.

Once in attendance crew confirmed one agricultural building containing hay bales, well alight. Crews have two main jets in use and are using two monitors to prevent spread.

We are currently advising properties in the local vicinity to keep doors and windows closed.

UPDATE -

As of 15:20hrs - The barn fire was under control with a relief crew from Newquay fire station monitoring the scene.

Crews remained on scene until 1800hrs and have confirmed that the hay bales are being allowed to burn under control of the owner.

Arson is suspected as the cause and Devon and Cornwall Police have been informed.
