One crew from St Austell and specialist line rescue crew from Tolvaddon attended a call to a 16.2hh horse stuck in a pond. The animal was 3 ft deep in the water and mud, crews used small tools to cleared vegetation and undergrowth away from around the bank of the pond. Once the incident scene had been fully assessed, crews formulated a plan. A winch was used to successfully rescue the 22 year old animal from the pond. Once clear of the water the horse was placed in the care of its owner and a vet. Crews were on scene for some time after the incident cleaning and recovering equipment.
