Horse Rescued From Mine Shaft

Beacon, Camborne at 17/01/2026 17:10

One appliance from Tolvaddon and specialist line rescue equipment from Tolvaddon and Bodmin attended a call to a 12 hands horse who had fallen down the top of a mine shaft and was standing on the capped shaft around 10 ft down. Crews formulated a plan and set up safe systems of work. The horse was sedated by a vet and using harnesses, lines and a quick release system were used alongside a pal finger to lift the animal from the mineshaft. The animal was rescued unharmed from the shaft.
