Flooding Incidents Cornwall

County Wide, Cornwall at 24/01/2026 13:50

Cornwall is currently experiencing significant tidal flooding across multiple coastal and low lying areas. Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service is working collaboratively with the Emergency Management Team, the Environment Agency, and Highways to respond to incidents, monitor conditions, and support communities affected by the severe weather.
We urge all residents and visitors to remain vigilant and to take extra precautions when travelling. Never drive through floodwater. Just 30cm of moving water is enough to move a vehicle, and even shallow, still water can hide hazards such as debris, missing manhole covers, or road damage. Floodwater can also rise unexpectedly and with little warning.
Our key safety advice:
• Avoid driving or walking through flooded roads or paths.
• Follow local road closures and diversions—they are in place to protect you.
• Keep up to date with weather and flood warnings issued by the Environment Agency and local authorities.
• Report life risk incidents via 999 only. For non emergency flooding impacts, use local council services and online reporting tools.
Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service will continue to work with our partner agencies throughout this period to keep our communities safe.
Stay alert, stay safe, and please avoid putting yourself or others at risk.
