Appliances from Truro and St. Austell also the water carrier from Newquay were mobilised to this incident, on arrival the crew found the fire involved two fronts of approximately 100 metres each, firefighters used hosereels and beaters to extinguish the fire, which destroyed approximately 5 acres of oats.
