Frying Pan Fire

Higher Trezaise, between Roche and Stenalees at 24/08/2006 19:35

Firefighters from St Dennis and St Austell were mobilised when a call was received at Fire Control, Truro, where all that could be heard on the line was the caller coughing. Using the latest technology the caller's address was immediately identified and help was sent.

Whilst the crews were en-route a fire control operator remained on the telephone line attempting to make contact with the caller. Eight minutes after the start of the call, the caller was able to say that they had now escaped from the house and that it was a frying pan that was on fire. Firefighters arrived soon after and confirmed that the occupant was out.

Firefighters entered the property and found that the fire was already out. The smoke was then cleared.
