Firefighters from Launceston were called to a bungalow fire last night. They quickly extinguished the fire using hosereels. Fortunately noone was hurt as the owners had working smoke alarms and had been alerted early to the fire.
The fire only damaged the utility room as the door had been closed to the adjoining rooms.
The fire could have had disastrous consequence if the owners had not been fire safety aware.
Everyone should have a working smoke alarm on each floor of their property and it should be checked once a week.
