Barn Fire

30 firefighters from St Columb, Newquay, Bodmin, Truro and St Dennis are tackling a large barn fire near Newquay. The barn is approx 30x30 metres, full of hay and is of solid stone construction.
This fire has been particularly difficult for the firefighters as asbestos is involved. A specialist hazmat officer is in attendance.
UPDATE: 2215HRS
One fire crew is still in attendance damping down. It is anticipated that they will be leaving the scene shortly. The fire will be left to smoulder overnight, under the supervision of the farmer.
