Fire Involving Gas Cylinder In House

Two fire appliances from Penzance attended following a report of a fire involving a gas cylinder inside a house. It appears that gas from a leaking propane cylinder had ignited when it came into contact with an open fire. There was fire damage to some furnishings and the occupant, who managed to escape, suffered burns and was left in care of ambulance personnel.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property to make the leaking cylinder safe and check for fire. The property was then vented to disperse the gas.
