At 21:23hrs this evening the brigade were called to a fire in a kitchen which had started in a commercial deep fat fryer. The building measured approximately 30 metres by 15 metres. It was confined to the kitchen on the first floor and extinguished using two dry powder fire extinguishers, one hose reel and four breathing appartus. A positive pressure ventilating fan was also used to clear the smoke from the building. Four male casualties suffered slight smoke inhalation and crews administered oxygen and they were also attended by ambulance crews.
