Everyone is invited to Truro Fire Station’s Open Day on Saturday 30 September from 11am – 4pm.

Children will have fun for hours as the entertainment includes a bouncy castle, face painting, a barbeque, candy floss and a chance to sit in a big red fire engine…..and it’s free!

The firefighters from Truro will be doing practical demonstrations of their fire fighting skills and the techniques they use when rescuing people at road traffic collisions.

The day also includes a visit from the other emergency services.

“The day helps us to promote community safety – does everyone have a working smoke alarm on each floor of their house and an escape plan?” said Station Officer Steve Halstead

He cont: “If they don’t we can offer free practical safety advice or even book a home fire safety check and arrange to visit them in their home”
