Firefighters from Wadebridge were quickly in attendance and a fire extinguisher was used to deal with the fire. The fire involved paper that had been placed on the cooker which was switched on.

General Fire Safety Advice:
Do not place anything on a cooker that is not designed to be there, particularly combustible material.
Always check that the oven and hob is turned off after use.
