Both appliances from Bude were mobilised on receipt of this call. on arrival crews found that there had been a fire which involved a sofa, which had already been removed from the property. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hosereel at the scene, the positive pressure fan was also used to ventilate the premises. An ambulance was requested for a casualty suffering the effects of smoke inhilation. The fire was caused by an ash tray which had spilled. Cornwall Fire Brigade reminds members of the public to always ensure that cigarettes are properly extinguished. Crews also were aware that there were no smoke detectors in the premises.
